CPS VG 200 Vacuum Gauge

Hi all I need to clean the sensor on my vacuum gauge does any one know if you need to screw of brass nut from body to do this. I do not want to crack trying.Gauge is just scrolling rrrrr not sure why?

Different make, no need to disassemble the cps though, just remove the sealing rubber, the rinsing out would be similar,
