Leak detection dye

Wondering about using dye in system to find leaks - does anyone use it and has it been successful in finding difficult leaks

Used it does work but just buy a good leak seeker and a bottle of ofn!:D

It depends on the system and it depends on why you can't
find the leak using normal leak detection methods.

You need to ask yourself why the manufacturers don't put
it into a new system?

If it was meant to be in there, they would put it in. The only
stuff that should be in a fridge is refrigerant and oil (and we
tolerate oil only because the compressor needs it).

All leaks can be found with bubbly water and a good leak detector.
If you are struggling to find a very small leak, then use a blend
of OFN and Helium to find the small hole.

From experience I have found that large leaks tend to be made up of
smaller leaks and you have to find them all, systematically one after
the other. If you can't find the one big leak, then look for lots of small ones.

Nice answer Rob,
unfortunately, to make a profit at all costs, nowadays chemical industry use to offer some "shortcuts",
in my opinion it is the same like teaching us how to be stupid.:mad:
