View Full Version : Whats happening since Feb Hansen Recall ?

Would love to know what everyone has been doing about this? I will make it easy, multi choice


A) swept under carpet and waiting till 5 year replacement is up?

B) Replaced all valves in question already, gained $50/valve lost $200

C) Still sitting on hands

D) Waiting for suppliers to formally advise there part in the matter

E) advised client and they have done nothing but return blame on you

F) Inspected every valve in question

There are batch serial numbers that apply.
I have to Neap Air purgers that have Hansen PRV's fitted.
Both have been checked after being contacted by their UK Agent, on behalf of Hansen.
Both are within the recal range, so both are being replaced free of charge.
I am awaiting their delivery, which I am advised is 3/4 weeks!
Once received i will swap them over and the existing ones have been recalled!

We have been replacing them, pretty costly exercise. I think we had over 200 to be done.

Our Branch has replaced hundreds so far! Our company estimates that 5000 will be getting replaced. Hansen is working along side us through this whole ordeal.

Inspect every valve. Fortunately the suspect ones were installed by the previous service company so it's between our client and them.

We have replaced over 400. On some you make money, some you lose a little. Made more than lost. On jobs where we lost too much, talked to Hansen and gave us a little more upon explanation. If the client asks Hansen to run the warranty through you, Hansen will pay you to do them. These valves had a potentially faulty part and although no valve was found to have failed due to the part to date, Hansen chose to do a $10 million recall than to risk an injury.
