Which device protects the defrost heater from overheatinf?
Where should ohms be taken to check defrost contacts what terminals? I was thinking 3 aND 4 10843

Defrost thermal protection is in series with the heater
and the defrost contacts are 1 & 2 for the switch neutral
for continuity.

Also which control contacts would you say would close and make the timer motor begin when the pressure in the frezzer temp control cap tube rises? would that be 1 and 2 as well

Looking at rthe diagram there is 1 and 2 ,1 and 3 1 and 4 and 2 and 4 . I was saying would 1 and 4 close? and the timer on the motor starts to run

There two circuits, compressor run and defrost switched by the timer motor. Common leg is line 1. So when the timer is a closed circuit between 1 and 4, it is on your cooling cycle, 1 and 2 (As currently shown in drawing) is defrost. If the thermostat is open circuit, no power is available for either cycles and therefore no power to timer motor.
NB: Many timer motors were wired to run 24/7. This one isn't.
