I once watched somebody clean a greasy condenser
with solvent spray and then light up his halide leak detector.

I still laugh at the thought of watching him try to put the fire
out in the condenser (It got rid of the grease though).

Working on a roof in Liverpool and being attacked by Seagulls while trying to complete a pressure test, when we rang the management for advice he said in a serious tone go get a loaf of bread and throw it to the other side of the roof that should keep them busy................needless to say it didnt

Just the other day, removed a 100 Kw VSD for servicing, reinstalled by on site electrician, answer was lock out removed all good to go signed off and tested . I started system, instant ground leakage fault.
Then I double check re-connection, crossed over ie line in feed to motor output, motor output to line input. Expensive card replacements

Plumbers Hooked up a portable hydraulic power pack It did not work. They cleaned the oil strainer no work they changed oil filter no work they tried everything and anything still no go. The chief engineer walking by looked at the piping and told them that there was a check valve in the dis charge line that was in backwards stopping the flow of oil. Same plumbers installing a 3/4 inch steam line for room heating installed the steam traps backwards. The traps have an arrow showing the direction of flow. Oh well at least they were consistant.
