Hi Paul

I did my apprenticeship manafacturing Able Air units. ( they are no longer around ) and installing. But i also like breakdowns and fault finding aswell. . So to cut a long story short mainly domestic Airconditioning. After i finished my time i did another 4 year apprenticeship so now i have my A grade electrical licence as well. I should have done it the other way around for as you know when a sparky becomes a fridgy its only a 6 month course not 4 years.

I have been running my business now for 3 years and have a number of fridgys and sparkies that work for me ... lately i have been getting requests for ducted system on new housing and have been searching for the correct technique to size up systems that have zones, and the best way to map out ducting and ducting sizes. can you help?

Hi Phil
I am in the industrial field, we do some A/C and small domestic stuff but only for our big clients.
With regards to the ducting sizes and layout I would think there would be a program out there to do this, maybe from one of the manufacturers or suppliers. There are several A/C guys on the forum so post under Air Conditioning and see what you get.

G'day Phil. The Aussie Refrigeration mechanics on this site are few and far between so i hope you can hang around and share your experience. You might have to learn the lingo of our respected colleagues around the world though we are generally fast learners.;)

By my humble opinion, best duct sizing program is REVIT MEP. It size it as you draw lines where duct should go.
