Hi guys.
I have a question for you.
We have here an instalation running with 4 compressor sabroe smc 180 mk1 with 8 cylinders eatch and more 2 smc 112 do not know what is the model.
on a other plant we have 5 mycoms 200 LUD-M withdout use. stoped for more than 2 years.

I know that i have to do an completely overhall on the mycoms, but the question is:
Is viable to substitute the olds Sabroes for ther olds Mycoms.
How much is the economy of energy that i should have?

Thanks.

Gui,
The piston compressors are more efficient with power when unloaded than an unloaded screw.
if you have a good base load then 1 Mycom 200L is equivalent to roughly 1off SMC 188 o
r 1 off SMC112L.
Electrical work will cost a lot to change over, starter panels, cable etc.
I would at least try to make 188 Sabroes redundant or standby due to their age, others may disagree!
VFD on screws an option but expensive when you have recipe already their, hopefully 112 Sabs running slow (960rpm).
