We flew with Emirates to oz but every Emirates flight goes directly from England to dubai which they use as a hub.
Dubai is great but it adds time to the journey
Melbourne is a great place also. . Take some time to visit the beach, casino, sports grounds and the old prison.
The covered market is good and if I remember correctly there is a long road with lots of restaurants.
Just a pity about the lager type of swill they serve.......they just need educating about real beer.
Have fun.

Get some Beez Kneez down ya. Pains me to say it but it knocked Fullers Honey Dew for a 6 (pack!). On the other hand the Guiness would turn anyone teetotal.

We flew with Gulf Air a few years back but only because they were the cheapest - £750 return each:eek:

Have fun!

That made me laugh out loud! Give you points if I could.

Should have spent the spare £750 on a couple of vietnamese brides in the stop over in Singapore...

There is a Guinness bar in Dubai airport. It's right at the bottom of the escalator as you pass through customs :-)
Bit pricey but who cares

What part of Oz?

JAL fly via Tokyo. Cramped as I recall, but good route - pretty mad flying over Siberia in daylight - I think we saw one spot of humanity down there in about 3 hours of flying!

Sis says 'Never again' to Quantas.

Virgin's ok, but I haven't flown the full distance with them - only the HK-Brisvegas leg. We were in their 'between cattle & business class' bit. The seats were cold.

To be honest, we found BA to be the best so far.

Yet to try Emirates or Singapore.
