The long awaited F Gas regulation looms nearer.
The EU Conciliation Committee met in early February and the joint agreed text was summarised in a press release at the time.
An unofficial consolidated text of the F Gas Regulation appears here on EFCTC's excellent web site:
http://www.fluorocarbons.org/documents/Regulatory/FINALdraft%20joint%20text%20-%20regl?ment%2020030189A(COD).pdf
and an unofficial consolidated version of the MAC Directive here:
http://www.fluorocarbons.org/documents/Regulatory/Draft%20joint%20text%20-%20directive%2020030189b%20(COD).pdf
The next steps are that when the forms of words in the final texts are approved by the lawyer's translators, they will be submitted back to the Council and the Parliament for another vote, this time for a clear majority in Parliament and a qualified Majority in the Council on the text as agreed in Conciliation. There can be no more amendments or changes and it can still be thrown out, which is most unlikely.
It?s expected to be complete in mid to late 2006, but will depend, of course, on the parliament / Council time table.
It?s worth studying what it says, because some of the requirements will certainly affect members on this forum.
