Has anyone ever heard of a screw compressor which manufacturer has purposefully
machined tips of rotors at discharge end?
This is a Nh3 system which is in a gas field, have no other details.

Nope, but I'm no expert. Machined how, exactly?

Hi, RANGER1 :)

Has anyone ever heard of a screw compressor which manufacturer has purposefully

Never heard about, but I'm wondering what for? Have no logical explanation ...

Best regards, Josip :)

I have not seen this machine but it was described to me with the machined of tips a discharge end.

It also makes no sense to me as that is the business end where heat & capacity are affected.

The only thing Mycom have done which is different to most screw compressor manufacturers, is to have booster or high side discharge end clearances different.

Makes you wonder if someone made a mistake somewhere.

Maybe a Mycom rep could answer?

I wonder if it was to de-rate the compressor for some specific reason? A special order or field modification?
