Do Mitsubishi units not have specific requirements when wiring the outdoor unit with mains power for neutral and live connections? Checked through manuals etc, cannot find anything about N or L markings etc.

When you say specific requirements, do you mean which terminals they connect to?

Exactly, which terminals on the inside unit- they're not marked N or L etc, just some numbers

If you are referring to Mitsubishi electric units, then normally the mains power (single phase or three phase) is fed from the distribution board to the outdoor condenser and connected to L1, L2, L3, N and Earth terminals that are marked.

From here a 4 core cable is normally run from indoor to outdoor S1 is live, S2 is neutral, S3 is comms and cable 4 goes to the earth terminal.

If you look at the wiring diagram on the indoor/outdoor pub you can normally work out which terminal goes where.

Thanks marc although in this case the outdoor unit is powered directly as this is a Heavy Industries unit.

Mitsubishi electric units are normally powered directly from the distribution board to the outdoor unit.

Do you have a model number?

Mitsubishi Heavy Ind normally work the same, mains power to the outdoor and 1 (Live), 2 (Neutral) and 3 (comms) interconnecting between indoor and outdoor.

As stated by Marc, check the wiring diagram on the unit covers.
