hi guys.

im have been in the air conditioning trade for 9 years now mainly doing installs on vrvs and split systems.

today i got asked to look at a climaveneta chiller which feeds a big shop in a shopping centre <1 of many>

when i got there on the control panel it says 'compressor high pressure alarm'

there was no way of runnig the system until the fault is rectified. coils are clean and so are filters fan motors seem good. i didnt want to go any further as i am not confident enough and didnt want to balls it up even more.

i woud really like to know what could be causing this as i hate being defeated could anybody please shed some light on what could be causing this fault.

many thanks

High pressure above settings will stop the compressor and set alarm off.

The reason can come from a few places, some of condenser fans not running, too much refrigerant, air in the system, a nylon sheet blocked the entering air, faulty high pressure sensor.

There is only 1 fan for condenser the other fan is inside the unit attached to a belt. 1 thing i forgot to .ention is they are ducting their heavy duty dishwasher into the a/c duct and obvioisly when the unit doesnt run the steam is backing up the duct and dripping all over the ceilings

What has ducting and dishwasher discharge got to do with a chiller?

Ok maybe its not a chiller its an ac unit on the roof a package unit

can we clarify-the clima venta chiller on the roof- has 1 fan on it, this chiller serves a shopping ctr, so were talking big stuff
a commercial dishwasher exhaust is ducted onto the return air of the air handlng/fan coil unit- which is belt driven.

-whats the model number of the chiller
-ur fault is with the chiller -hp alarm, requires resetting then moniter running pressure,td accross cond coil, checking the running current of the outdoor fan motor- ensuring the overload is rated 125% over the running current.
find the hp switch if its manual reset, isnt nuisance tripping
try these codes for alarm resetting

It is r407c with 1 3phase compressor. I cant reset it it says the fault needs to be rectified before you can run system

The motor with the belt blows the air into the building and the fan on top of the condenser rejects the heat right? Then at the end other end of unit is where the duct comes back and where they are rejecting their dishwasher discharge

manual hp reset - on the discharge pipe- or ranco/sanyagia/penn tiny reset latch

So if fans and coils are good where would i best best to look next? Will i deffinatrly be able to do a manual reset?

hp switch will be near the compressor (big heavy thing that chuggs)- mounted on the discharge pipe (smaller hot pipe) if theres no button to press on the pressureswitch, u may need to aknowledge the alarm on the touchscreen controller( try the codes earlier mentioned for access to reset fault)

Can you help me fix it but I don't know what 'it' is.

My advice would be to leave well alone!!
