I ordered a 1/4 ton R22 TXV (actually two) and it had a sensing bulb just a little smaller than a C battery. Thinking I might have got the wrong item or it was mislabeled, I decided to open it up to take a look at the actual valve assembly. To my surprise, the orifice was just big enough to stick a piece of AWG22 wire in it. Is that about right for a 1/4 ton R22 TXV? (There is an inscription on the valve that says 1/4, but I wonder if it was mislabeled. I would hate to carefully put together the system only to find out that the valve is completely wrong!)

What number is stamped on the orifice? 00 or 01?

As an update, I installed the valve and it worked great.
