Inspiration

Has anybody really inspired you to be better.

Many, many years ago I left a small family run fridge
company and joined a large industrial company.

I went from working on compressors I could carry to
compressors I could sit inside.

Anyway one cold room had ongoing issues that we could
not bottom out so a consultant was brought in.

I, being the youngest was given the job of assisting this guy.

I learnt more from that guy in a week than in the previous
seven years (including college). He inspired me to be better
and he encouraged me to look at the system as a whole and
not, just individual components that are bolted together.

He's not around any more sadly and I don't think he knew how
much influence he had on me, but he inspired me to be better and
I always remember the week I was his apprentice.

Regards

Rob

Not so much inspired as admired, all the crusty old fridgies that I was allowed to assist. In reality they were not crusty, nor old, but just adults and me a smart arsed upstart.

gotta give respect to stormin norman dawson - who taught me about chillers and damien smith now at carrier-both inspirational people, also respect to the mutants ive also had experiences with - best 1 was some dude from rochdale who after diagnosing a faulty contactor, with overload, auxillary contacts- instead of writing down terminal numbers or marking the cables with insulation tape- actually drew the contactor!!!!!!! - same chiller at barclays bank leeds- didnt recognise the arrangement of shorting links on the compressor terminals - he was going to change em!!!!!!!!-thing had been chuggin away for 20yr no problems!
