I am after some sort of service schdule for ceiling cassettes
I have have a small disagreement with some body as to weather you should drop the drain pan on cassettes at every service

I wouldn't think so although it does depend on the area that the unit is serving.
A very dusty/dirty area may nee the pan checking more often but...
It is often possible to check the state of the drain pan by removing any covers around the pipe entry point and looking inside the unit using a torch and or mirror.
On some units you need to drop the control box from inside to access the pump panel but it's still easier than dropping the whole drain pan.

Not always necessary, unless v/dirty enviroment or units are v/old & giving problems with dripping ect. Not only that they can be a night mare to fit back without breaking a piece off the polystyrene tray.

any idea where i can find some sort of techinical information as to thr service requirements for these units to satisify the warrenty issues
in the event of a claim

Service info will be in the Manufacturers Handbook; most of them just say 'keep it clean' !!
