Is there a way of gaining an approximate system age from MHI Condensing/outdoor unit serial numbers.

Thanks for that, but I was really trying to find some information for Mitsubishi Heavy NOT Mitsubishi Electric. They have a slightly different serial number structure.

For their wall mounted splits made in Thailand the first digit of the serial number is the last digit of the production year

Try calling up HRP or 3d air or what ever they prefer to be called as they hold all the answers! I usually speak to chris in technical.
