Some one has asked me this. I dont have a clue ive hardly worked on chillers. But am learning them now. Can some one please help me

Chiller duty.*Kw= Flow (l/s) x temp diff (k) x 4.186 (s.g water). To find flow reverse this formula.*Therefore what is the kw duty where flow rate is 15 l/s and TD k is 4.5c.

282.555kW I think the comment about reversing the flow confused you. Or maybe you typed the wrong question? Or maybe I'm completely missing the point?

Yeah your right thats the answer but he wont explain it. Could you explain it to me please? He said if I know what s g water means i would understand but I really dont. I know it means specific gravity. But I need help understanding it.

OK,
Look at it slightly different...

If you got a weight and you move it a distance, you agree that the work you carry out could be described as kg x m?

Now, the flow multiplied by the specific gravity is your weight and the temperature differential (Delta T) is your distance.

The easier way to look at your formula is:
kW = ( l/s x 4.186 ) x K
or
Work carried out = weight x distance.
