Hi,

We have a Lennox CHP116-261 package air conditioner/heat pump. It has the standard Lennox controller which isnt exactly easy to use. I spoke to our contractor, who have said the recommended controller is the one installed, and quoted £600 to fit a new identical one.

Can anyone suggest something that would be idiot proof. The system has no dampers or anything installed, just the basic unit on the roof.

Ideally, I would like a controller that is set to auto, and one set point, like we have on the Mitsubishi units. Most of the confusion comes about from the two set points that it has, and meddling fingers!

Thanks in advance :)

cant find anything on that controller- but most lennox controllers give u the option to lock the settings, the 2 setpoints is for your heat , cool threshold- ideally 2deg difference
i know controllers are expensive as you have to change sub base, and then usually the room sensor too.
cheaper option to move the controller or fit a perspex hinged lockable cover
