compressor overheating

hi
i have crafft window type air conditioner 24000 btu capacity
it was leaking from service valve
so i degas it
then checked for leaks
and charged it
it works properly
and cooling perfectly
but the compressor is overheating

i checked the temperature of
discharge line = 70 C
suction line = 19 C
compressor top cover = 73 C
current = 14 amp
volltage 210 volt
so where is the problem

Which refrigerant u r using ?? check the suction & discharge pressure's... How u calculated the length and size of capillary ?

i didn't touch the capillary
still as company made it

Your suction superheat is excessive - 19degC @ 65psi. Current seems a little high - what is the current rated at? Did you charge it by weight with a set of accurate scales or by system pressures. Is it cutting out on a thermal safety because it looks like and old rotary (rotary's run hot). The way it was charged will help with the solution and the current rating. Sorry I don't have a btu converter.

Hi kefah, your compressor is rotary. Rotary compressors have designed to work 100c to 120c.73c is normal.

the current on name plate is 14 amp
i charged by using scales

I think its not good... Indoor temperature too high, i dont know TROPIC edition unit or not, but indoor too high.

the unit is tropical
so is that normal for the compressor or not

Moideen has given temps for comp. Why do you think the compressor is overheating?. Will it pull the room down to a reasonable temp or is it cutting out on a compressor thermal safety (klixon)? there may be no problem apart from a high initial load for the unit.

Compressor case temperature is within limits.

System can only be analysed when it had reached design conditions, during pulldown readings will often appear strange.

dear Kifah,, I think there is nothing wrong with your unit. it is running with normal conditions. do not worry, rotary comp.s usually run hot
