hi
is there difference in installing reversing valve horizontally
or vertically
some split unit came with reversing valve mounted horizontally
10316
or vertically
10317
does that matter or not

I don't think it makes much difference, if replacing one then make sure its the same way as when the factory made the unit, then it should work as designed.

no im will not make change
but asking why some company install it horizontally or vertically
is that matter

mounting can be in any position, as its only a solonoid and a piston.

iv been told not to mount it horizontally with the small capillary lines underneath, as on occasion oil can sit in them and affect the function.
if its horizontal with the capillary lines on top, thats fine.
from someone i work with who used to work in manufacture.
