hi
is there difference in installing reversing valve horizontally
or vertically
some split unit came with reversing valve mounted horizontally

or vertically

does that matter or not

I don't think it makes much difference, if replacing one then make sure its the same way as when the factory made the unit, then it should work as designed.

mounting can be in any position, as its only a solonoid and a piston.

iv been told not to mount it horizontally with the small capillary lines underneath, as on occasion oil can sit in them and affect the function.
if its horizontal with the capillary lines on top, thats fine.

from someone i work with who used to work in manufacture.
