Hi, I passed the relevant courses about 4 months ago after leaving the military hoping to get into the trade. Unfortunately my lack of experience is obviously off putting to employers. The qualifications I have are as follows-
• C & G 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
• 7543 Certification
• 7543 Certificate in Mo--bile Air Conditioning Systems
• F-Gas J11 Scheme
• Refrigerant F-gas Safe Handling
• Commercial J05 Scheme
• J05 Scheme Pipework and Brazing
I have sent my CV off to 25 companies in the Sheffield area with a covering letter saying I would like to work with one of their service technicians (unpaid) just to gain some experience. I received one email back saying they were impressed with my cv but they haven`t much work at the moment but will give me a call when things pick up.
Does anyone know if there are any insurance problems with me working unpaid for a company?
I have applied for 19 jobs in both Air Conditioning and Refrigeration/ Starting to get disheartened now and have applied for other jobs. If I work doing something else I am losing time. Does anyone have any suggestions other than moving to Australia as that is not achievable with a new baby.
Thanks for reading . Luke
