View Full Version : Daikin vrv4.....No fixed speed comp's?????

Read somethinga while back that said the VRV4 was inverter compressor only.
Since then have trawelled various sales and promotional material but it doesn't seem to be mentioned.
I would have thought if this was the case Daikin would be ranting and raving about it.
Can anyone shed any light on this??
Or even better does anyone have a schematic for the outdoor unit.

VRVIV definitely has two inverter driven compressors. Improved efficiency we are told. System also has a revised defrost strategy which defrosts part of the outdoor coil at a time whilst leaving the system running in heating mode to prevent total loss of heating at the indoor units.

The defrost sounds good but how are 2 invertor compressors ever going to be more efficient than a fixed and a well controlled variable?

2 compressors because they can be slowed down to a lower capacity than 1 alone (say min speed is 15% then with one compressor off and the other one at 15% the system is operating at 7.5%) both being inverted because you don't get the starting torq and currents, inverted compressors generally got a longer life expectancy and there are less spares to be handled... (somehow I suspect that last reason is the strongest in today's society where storage and customer service both are costs, but that might just be me being a SOG)

Just two inverter PCB's to change, both the same part number and two compressors, brilliant.

VRVIII has done the training course and we have chatted about it. IIRC there is a new LED display but it doesn't display real time monitoring...

VRV4 - RXYQ - simply heat \cold
RYYQ - heat accumulator on the concentrated salt solution while in a defrosting internal blocks heat the external block.
Cooling of a PCB of the inverter by *****.
2 invertor compressors.
Changeable temperature of evaporate in internal blocks from 3 to 16 degrees.
Short-term evaporate in need of sharp cooling of -15 degrees on internal blocks.
All EEV valve have the maximum step of 3000 impulses (on the condenser precisely).

p.s. more Samsung DVM S interests. Completely on inverters, with a lamellar subcooler and difference on 110 meters (the external block is higher) and 70 (the external block is lower), at an exhibition didn't turn out to open the external block and to look at a contour.(((

But there is one but, the invertor compressor in any system works always much more than fixed-speed. Also he dies much quicker, even if in system everything is all right, but as the practice shows, even the most not killed systems die, and injection, unloading,rotation not helps... from armless monkeys doesn't help anything.

So it's safe to say it's inverter only then.
I'll still take a schematic if any one can lay there mitts on one.
Rusbuka , I'm aware of the Samsung running Digital scrolls and I beleive MHI also have an inverter only vrf , but thanks for the info.

New Samsung DVM S is only inverter, Digital Scroll is DVM+4.

Today I tormented technical specialists of Daikin concerning VRV4 RYYQ:
1 . At short circuit of the compressor, whether payments burn?
2 . As many parameters the new box and the a configurator program shows, in comparison with a cheker working on D3net, whether internal blocks can set addresses through it, instead of to run and put in the manual.
3 . How effective is cooling of a heatsink of a inverter PCB at a street temperature of 33-35 degrees, bad filling of system and strongly unloaded inverter. Cooling takes ***** from the condenser and throttle by EEV, and takes it before subcooler.
4 . How discharge of compressors in a mode of defrost in blocks with heat accumulator is distributed?

and still some other... answers practically weren't... anybody normally doesn't know system.

I'm more interested in the electrical schematic for the VRV4 , just to satisfy my own curiosity.
