Hi All

I am having problems with a spectrum ts500 burning out fuel solenoids and blowing the 40 amp fuse.

The original went so I replaced it with a solenoid from a scrapped MD11sr but the next day it has done the same thing again, thinking it was a one off I got another solenoid from a scrapper as the owner has just taken 5 MD11sr units off the road, next day blown again.

The voltage of the alternator is 14.2 volts .

Regards

Chris

i have had this problem, wire the trigger connection to the starter solenoid

it could be that voltage is being sent to both the trigger and the holding causing it to fry

just looked on another forum,8s to 8dp fuse it with a 10 amp fuse so do the connection at the engine end so the trigger only gets fed when starter is cranking[remove the 8dp]dont double up.

so remove 8dp wire from the fuel solenoid and replace it with a link from the starter pullin feed and fuse it with a 10 amp fuse?

you got it,it seems like you have power on 8dp for too long maybe a board/relay issue.

the white wire on the fuel solenoid is the pull in, red hold in and black earth.
So chop the white wire and extend it to the starter motor after the solenoid, like a carrier trailer unit

Hmm, wire the pull circuit for the fuel solenoid to the starter? Now where have I seen that before? ;)

Hi All

I have had the unit running now for 3 days with the modification without any problems at all.

I would like to thank cadwaladr and gravy258 for all the help and information provided.

Many thanks

Chris
