I live in a Northern State. I work primarily in Supermarkets on Multiplex Racks. Most are Floating the Head down to 60-65f Condensing.
Most of the people I talk to that do not believe in Floating the Head down, do not know to or for whatever reason can't set up the High Side Valves and Condenser operation.
I have set up several stores that others have said the Racks... "Dont Work with that Low Head Pressure"
When set up properly to Lower the Condensing temp, Gain Subcooling with mimimum Fans on...I say its a good thing on the energy bill.

I agree with THE DUDE. Have a system with floating head pressure to 60F running an entire supermarket. Roughly about 750 M/btu. When the liquid temp gets down to 50F and below rack and condenser only draw 45 amps at 480 volt. We also use Hot gas defrost on these systems and have no problem getting enough heat to defrost cases.
