Found a Dixell Chinese clone for +/- 12,5 $ to 14 $.

NTC sensor 1 $, PTC 1.4 $
Let's face it..what is a controller..a pcb with some screws in it, some small relays and a microchip.
It works or it works not, there is not that much that can go wrong with it.
Prewired box for a 5 HP: 123 $
Those small thermometers LCD with a button battery you sometuimes see in counters 2.85 $
Eliwell like thermometer 4.35 $
What do you think of it?

Peter, after doing a couple of months warranty work for the U.K. distributor of a Chinese refrigeration manufacturer (no names) we have now binned that contract as it was far too much grief. I know China is the fastest growing economy at the moment, but the quality control isn't quite there yet:( On the other hand we said the same about the Japanese not thirty years ago & now look at them, also more recenly Korean products. It's only a matter of time:)

In December last year, I was talking with a refrigeration controller manufacturer and he said that the threat of cheap Chinese controllers was very real. He suggested that the Chinese would swamp the standard controller market, leaving European manufacturers the more sophisticated controllers or the special controllers built, in relatively small quantities, for individual refrigeration contractors. It appears that he was not too far from the truth.
