hello everyone,

I need to use R245fa as refrigerant working fluid. But I am not sure which lubricant should be used for R245fa. The compressor I am planning to use is originally for R290. The oil type is 100cst. My question is:
Can this lubricant for R290 be used for R245fa? If not, which lubricant can be used?
Is there anyone have some experience on this issue?

Thanks for your help/

Hi John

pentaflourapropane is compatable with synthetic pag 220

but the 'fa' version of 245 is specifically designed for electrical circuit cooling and is normally pumped liquid oiless

and has a primary circuit to cool the liquid, example R404a

Thanks, chillerman.

I totally agree with you. R245fa also is used in ORC cycle.

But I use R245fa as the working fluid to test the performance of the ejectors, which will be applied in the refrigeration systems. So I need a compressor.

The compressor is there which was for R290 testing in the lab. So can i use it directly for R245fa?
