Drip Tray Overflowing Problem?

Hi, I have a Caravell Commercial Refrigerator and the drip tray keeps overflowing.
I have checked :
the condenser fan seems to be working.
the compressor runs fine.
the pipe isn't blocked or out of the pan.
The fridge seals are correctly sealed.

Everything is running like normal but the pan is overflowing? :rolleyes:

So what could be the problem? I have cleaned the tray out many many times.

If induced draught fans the drain needs a water P trap to create a balance so the water can drain, otherwise air is drawn up drain and pan will not clear water and overflow into space area.

Right so air is going up the drain tube causing the drip tray to overflow? So I need to make sure the drain has a P Trap? Is there any other suggestions to why the drip tray might be overflowing? It just has a simple 1cm plastic drain tube which goes into the plastic drip tray, and this drip tray is overflowing.

if induced draught fan arrangement, the fans will create a negitive pressure effect in drain pan and evaporator casing and draw air up the drain pipe, stopping water from gravity draining. A P trap of at least 3 inches will allow water to drain away, plus stop drawing all sump fumes from drain being introduced into chiller space, bacteria etc.,

Do you see water run down the drain pipe when the unit is switched off?
Another factor could be the height difference between your tray outlet and the drain pipe outlet.

Ie. What is the "Head"? Is there a constant "Fall" on the drain pipe?
Where the p trap is fitted is fundamental as well!

Is the hot gas line running through the drip tray.if so is the room the chiller is in cold.it could be there is not enough heat in the line to dry up the water,thus causing the tray to overflow.if so you could fit a small heated drip tray.

Turn system off, if drip tray now drains it was due to the negative pressure Magoo spoke of.

If not then it can't be anything complicated, so long as its at ite propper level and drains downwards it should work. Is the pipe clear? Have had to blow them out with some ofn before. Ice under the coil could block the path to the drain hole.
