View Full Version : Can you check superheat for Cap Tube system?

Hey guys I just recently graduated from Technical School, and I am now working in Commercial Food Industry. I just have a question about Cap Tube system and hoping someone can help me out a bit.
My question is can you find superheat in a Captube system, because I was thought in school captube system must be weight charge but they never mention measuring the superheat. :confused:

Where would you take the temp reading with Cap tube system? Because I know with TEV you would take the temp at the sensing bulb.

:) very interesting how you said that Marc, I had a discussion today about sub-cooling and superheat settings for a capillary tube system. I was informed that both should be watched closely when charging from scratch. Increasing charge should lower the subcooling and then the superheat is monitored for any rise. once the superheat rises to a desirable setting and subcooling remains, the required charge is set. This is the most effective way of obtaining as much capasity as possible. But yes unless ambient conditions are observed you can risk compressor flood back and lose system efficency.

when charging any system you must know the superheat and subcool, how on earth could you charge the system without knowing this:eek:

Andy, I agree for 100% with you.
Charging without knowing what you're doing is not the right way.
In that case, I can fix easily a Rolls Royce Trent 500 jet engine. If someone can give me a table and a theoretical book ot this engine.
