Career change

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site and an electrician (London based)looking to get into A/C and refrigeration industry.

Any suggestions how to go about this, such as relevent city & guilds coures etc.

Hi

If you are a fully qualified electrician,you will probably find an a/c company who does a lot of installs will employ you for the skills you have.Then once your in the door you can learn the A/C side plus attend some courses that hopefully your employer will pay for.:)

Thats right I am with Bernard, as a qualified electrician youcan enjoy a lot into A/C side, 70% trouble in a/c are in electrical.

OK J I M

So what drives you to become a fridge engineer? as a sparky do you have to be on call one week out of 4?
If it comes to 4:30pm on a Friday and the job will take another 6 hours to complete so the customer doesn't lose his stock before you go home would you be happy?

Do you get called out on Christmas day at present?
