Advice on solenoid - Aermec chiller

Hi all!

please see photo attached.

The application is an Aermec dx water chiller.

pure and simply, does anybody know what can cause this?

I may be wrong, but I'm sure the previous company who looked after this plant changed one last year too!

Help would be appreciated

Solenoid coils will overheat and melt if they are the wrong duty for the mechanical valve part. Coils come in different wattages depending on size and duty.

They can also fail if they don't fit the stem properly.

What service is the valve on, suction, liquid, hot gas?

Is the valve actually mounted stem down? Don't know whether that makes a difference but, well.....

Not the same make but a Sporlan document which on page 3 has a list of possible malfunction reasons.
