Being sheltered in a production enviro I sometimes dont get the lastest news. We are using R-22 and R134A for production of our self contained units but when remote compressors are installed by others we get a large percentage of requests for 404A.

Whats your favorite medium temperature refrigerant and Why?

Thanks , Ken

R404 wins everytime.

R22 has not got long before its gone.

R134a is just $hite.

Hey Chillin, The problem we have had with 404 is that our mechanical space is quite small and 404 condensng units are larger than 134a so we have stayed with it. Why do you like it so?

I agree with all this.

Plus you have low temp and medium temp running on one refrigerant.

Hopefully this might cut down on the ***** jugs that one will carry in the future.:)

I don`t really know.. It`s hard to explain , R404a just seems to do what you expect/want it to do.

It keeps the pipe-work clean even after a blocked cond. Where-as R134a will block filters and capilleries.
