Hi everyone

How does your company quote to locate refrigerant leaks on multi systems such has VRV systems?

My company always want to put a time allocation such as one days work to:

Remove the refrigerant, pressure test, locate leak, repair, evacuate, and recharge with refrigerant
then hand the unit back to the customer fully operational.

we seem to be losing money on some of the quotes as we can't find the leaks in time !

Regards Bob

Bit hard to put a time on it as you know. Might find it straight away, might fartarse about all day getting into locked rooms etc looking for a pin hole. Maybe then need to chop up and test seperate parts of the systems...
On bigger system seems more sense to leave on pressure test overnight to be sure it's fine before recommissioning - even rechecking extra charge calculation as you go.

Depends how thorough your boss wants and how willing your customers are to pay for it. Seems you would be unable to keep your bosses expectations every time.

Price for 3 days to cover all eventualities.
But inform customer ,time and materials is the way to go and initial quote will be amended as such on completion.
Works for me.
