hi every one
how to charge 2 ton split ac unit in heating mode
it is commonly when charging ac
u must charge it while running it in cooling mode
but if i want to charge it while its running in heating mode
what i must do
must i disconnect the reverse valve from pcb
or connect the charging hose to the discharge connection valve in the split instead of suction connection valve
best regards

Unless you can get to a suction port (between compressor and 4WV) then you need to charge in cooling as the service port is the suction pipe in this mode otherwise in heating it's discharge gas.

If you select heat then perhaps get 4WV to stay in cooling should work, but after flaffing around might just as well select cooling anyhow - might have to heat air on probe or select test run.

Are you thinking of the service port on the small pipe? In heating this is high pressure liquid refrigerant so you'd be unable to use this port to charge.

Does the compressor pull from the accumulator in heating?? Just a random question.

Yes.

Search for a piping diagram of a heat pump and follow the system in heating or cooling. Should make a bit more sense to begin with than looking at the pipes on a unit,

So the compressor pulls from the accumulator, which tells me if there is a service port inbetween the condenser and accumulator, gas should be able to be dumped in there as this should be low pressure vapour. But there probably isnt going to a service port in between the condenser and accumulator.

Yep, that's right.

Service ports a bit thin on the ground on splits. Some might have a port inside on a discharge pipe perhaps (used for charging at the factory I think) other than that it's the one or two on the service valves.

thank u all
the best way to charge in winter
i s turn ing on split in heating mode then disconnecting the 4 way valve
and chjarging the split through suction valve ( the largest pipe valve )
thank u for help
