Hello chaps just wondering if anyones cams across this problem before.
I had a service call on the old r22 city multi today, 2 units in the chief executives office not heating.Anyway found the r/c set wrong ran on 24 heating worked fine. Decided to check all other units on heating, found 2 out of 6 wouldnt heat at all yet they will cool staifactory.Im sure the system is ok for gas because the pressures are norm and the furthest units are performing.is it worth swapping the solenoids for heating in the bc box with the cooling ones.Even tried re calibrting all the indoor exp valves.

may be worth checking the gas charge have heared of this problem before from another engineer they had exactly the same symptoms running fine in cooling but not in heating and it turned out to be short of gas , not sure why this occurs may be worth a check though

hope this helps

Suction and discharge pressures won't tell you that much on a VRF. Take the front cover of the outdoor, and on the bottom right unscrew the metal cover, check for a fault code if there is one. Check EEVs for units and make sure the motors are opening them properly. If you think there is a refrigerant problem, then you will have to weigh it out to decide if the problem lies there.
