Hello everyone,

I don't know if someone out there can help but I have a Carrier 30GX chiller which will not prelube.

I believe the oil pump is supposed to start before everything else fires up. This is not happening on one of the circuits. The control boards have been swapped, so I am confident that this is not the problem. What else could hold the pump off? There are no alarms so I presume this circuit is waiting for something like the oil temperature to be correct! The heater is working so I am at a bit of a loss.

Many Thanks

Does the pump work?

There is no power to it, but I haven't connected it directly to a power supply. This is maybe something i can try first.

Thanks

OK Not.
So there is no power to the oil pump.

Follow the Link and a wiring diagram and legend will reveal that-
either your individual 110v transformer has failed or there is no output from terminal 9 = EP 7* output.
* is 1,2, 3 or 4. dependant upon which circuit is at fault ie EP72 is the oil pump for circuit 2.
Terminal 9 is on that circuits Compressor monitoring, control and safety module. A*c .

This circuit also flows through KM* Comp contactor and SP* HP switch.
So you should be able to trace your issue.
Good luck Grizzly

Check the oil pump operation via quick test this will allow you to energise the oil pump and check electrical output to pump

Hi Grizzly,

I am going to site tomorrow so will see if I can trace this through. I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks
