hi
when install split unit
what is minimum distance should i consider between the upper end of wall mounted split unit and ceiling
as u know the hot air and smells and vapors are collecting there

typically over 50mm to allow for removal of the facia, but a lot of wall mount evap coils are in an A shape so it makes it difficult to spray the coils on maintenance visits

the minimmmum distance that i found is 20 cm

A max distance of 2-2.5meters can be considered. Also, its recommended to keep the outdoor (condensing) unit below the datam line of evapoarter, as in the other case, where the condensor is located in a higher position than evaporater, the compressor have a hard time suckin the oil back to it... No proper oil return will cause compressor failure!

If the condensing unit is below, the oil comes back to the compressor automatically (gravity).
