Has any one experienced a leaking solenoid valve on the o ring, we are aware of problems back in 2011 on earlier valves. Recently oct 12 we have had a couple fail and leak after 15 months of install on r404a sites.

I have had to replace ALL the O Rings on 2 store after 6 months. I did have 2 very large leaks due to the O Rings leaking. Both systems were Low and Med temp R407a

Did you have the o rings leaking on the original or retrofit o rings after 6 months. Thanks.

Both leaks were on the original. The retro's are holding....so far.

After retrofit from mineral oil to poe oil, you have to replace all rubber parts.

Hi Chemi-cool its not retrofit of gas, its the retrofit of the danfoss valve o rings and retainers supplied by Danfoss we refer to as they changed the design

Danfoss has acknowledged a fault in the EVR6 valves and have replacement seal kits available. Would suggest contacting your supplier for repair kits.

Thanks for the info, I was aware of these kits but was keen to understand if anyone else had experienced any leaking valves.

yep- had a solenoid replaced 18mth ago, I discovered on a compressor change, solenoid body o ring leaking whilst under a pressure test, replaced the body as after trying to cure the leak by tightening the 4 retaining screws and unable to rectify had to swap the body- been running for 4 month now

If its not the new style which for info are being all replaced with castel by arneg we have had an old style leak. R404a and running on a liquid line at 12 bar, bolt head sheared off and caused total failure. Any one else had this ?

Luke,
We've had over 300 valves replaced and we are currently replacing with Castel. There is a good bloke at WR Refrigeration who has helped us alot on this current issue. I've spoken with him a couple of times while out in the field his name is Andy i think he is the cabinet manager?
Might be worth giving him a call.

In 6 years the on,y danfoss solenoid i have seen fail was when a tech put one in. Back o front and another purchased a normally open txv ... Haha and another tech melted the diaphragm ... Un do and remove when soldering if you can't weld for s*** or have bad wrapping technique haha

interesting to hear about the re call...

I have also had 4 EVR6 valves on site all 4 of them leaked after 12 months so got seal kit replacements after 3 months all 4 are leaking again
systems are on R404a and have the copeland ZB style condensers I am now forced to decommission all 4 unbraze all 4 and fit a different manufacturer valves ouch!!!

In my opinion its hard to beat Sporlans Solenoid valves...the Metal Wolverine Gaskets rarely leak, even on a Low temp R-22 H.G.S.V's.
