hello, another trouble from water cooled chiller carrier 5h66 compressor. It very difficut to start and the motor belt pully spinning.

some details are as below:
- 25hp induction motor with 6 inch B type belt x3 pully
- carrier 5h66 with 7 inch pully

Is 5 belts pully good for the system?
What is the oil pressure to start the unloading?
How to adjust the load control from the oil pump side cover, normally they use the superheat to control the system loading....

thanks for advice.

I believe oil pressure will not vary the time of loading and unloading. Changes controlled oil pressure. Have you check and rotate the compressor pulley by hand. If it has any over tight might be occurred any internal problems. Besides confirm alignment also.

thanks for reply

someone already overhaul the unit with replace all new bearing, piston ring...and all the part has been check.

the compressor pully can turn by hand but a little tight.

from the carrier manual, this type of compressor should run with 5 belt and maybe a larger motor maybe 40hp
for 5h66 comp.

is that true?
