Having been here for just over 2 years, i've seen many "Views" and little feedback on questions posted. It seems a majority of members either do not know the answer to the posted question, or are hesitant to answer due to the possible ridicule they might receive.

If we were to simply answer questions, (as this forum is a bee hive, and can be a mine field to search for answers, especially if one is new to this Campus)... then maybe there would be more discussion. Thinking.... BRING IT ON!!
Most of us had to start in this industry at the bottom of the ladder and i think, the more we review the basics and, at least attempt to answer the more challenging and technical questions, then we can actually improve on our own skills while helping others.

PS. Simply trying to get more people involved in the forums.
PPS. Pictures will always help. Video's with some singing involved could prove invaluable :D..

I'm a member of a few forums and I've been here for years and years
and I find this site one of the most relaxed and peaceful sites I care to
remember. The site for the most part is for proffesionals and therefore
with a few exceptions only people in the trade tend to comment.

Because the site is so well run and looked after there is very little bullying
and no gang or clique culture and that hopefuly should encourage people to
express their own opinion.

One of the many reasons why I like this site.

Rob

I have to say, I lurk quite a bit and drop a reply every now and again. But do like the site. I tend to find the same people answer the questions and well too. So don't think anybody missing much in the way of help. Plus I have an aversion to typing long sentances!! I am only a burned out supermarket fridgie at heart!

Well, I am on a few forums and this one is the best, most relaxed and educational.....which is what I need. And since I don't do scorched air, I find that the wet heads reside on here. So there.:p

Shoot, one monkey is as good as another. I have a whole tribe that cruise through the garden every day foraging as they go. They ate the baby birds out of the nest in the palm tree one day, and have been terrorising the neighbours by coming in to steal edibles. They did not like the box of toothpicks though that they whipped out of the one kitchen. I have made my place monkey proof, so as not to get a surprise, they know how to open fridges and cupboards, though like teenagers not how to close them, though the mess is remarkable similar.

the best way to get rid of monkeys is lace the food with chill sauce or laxatives or viagra,or recreational drugs- greedy gits will think twice of returning- unless theyre protected! :D

I appreciate all the knowledge available on this site and have gathered much valuable info. I have noticed that refrigeration systems design and theory is a very regional thing. What we do here in the midwest US is different than the south, west, ect and much different than Europe and Australia. It is nice to be able to post a question and get a world wide response. I also try to add my input to questions that are asked when I can. I appreciate everyone on here that takes the time to answer questions and help out.

I also have found everyone here to be very helpful. I have very little knowledge and refrigeration skills and I've had several questions here posted about refrigeration problems and everyone has always helped me and made me feel welcome. I find it interesting to read some of the threads and it's nice to get a view of the industry from all over the world. I don't have much knowledge to give back to the forum but one day when someone has a problem I can help with then I will.

I work on industrial size NH3 and ***** systems... I found my way here in 2006, and in the period 2006-2009 there was a lot of discussion in the industrial forums that was very interesting, I usually check in here once or twice a week and view "unread posts since last visit" but it seems like 98% of the posts here now are about small size air condition of split unit air condition, and BY GOD I hate split unit Air conditioning (having installed 5 of them in my life, for family, mostly because I don't have the tools for it and it takes me 6 hours compared to the 1.5 hours a "weekend schooled" aircondition specialist uses)

So there's not so much for me in here, but I know the industrial guys are lurking in here, because the fe times I have shouted out for help, I have had MASSIVE response on both email and PMs. as well as in the thread

and finally when starting a thread try to give as much info as possible, model numbers, gas, pressure ,temp readings, pics are useful too- as were not psychic

All forums have two buttons to look out for:
+ Post New Thread
And
+ Reply to Thread
So, you first Pick the forum you want to post in, say Refrigerants (http://www.refrigeration-engineer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?37-Refrigerants)
Then, once you have surfed there, you will see a lot of different thread. To post a NEW thread, you click the +Post New Thread button (in green and white on the left)
If you wanted to look at a specific thread, then say pick? about hydrocarbon gas (http://www.refrigeration-engineer.com/forums/showthread.php?37554-about-hydrocarbon-gas)
Then once you have surfed there, if you want to reply, click the +Reply to Thread button (in green and white on the left) or click in the quick reply box below that and start typing.

Also, as I have found...

Do a google search for what you are looking for... if it is on RE, it will come up as your first hit below the commercials on google, at least that is true in my case, it's kinda uncanny :)
