I have Refco's which are on their third set of gauges, second sightglass, fourth valves but are 20+ years old.
Yellow jacket for R410A.
CPS crap as backup.
Testo 550's for new systems and commisioning!

.

I have about 5 sets that I personaly own.

One set is more than 40 years old but like Triggers Broom
it has had new gauges and hoses over the years so only the
body is original.

I have tended to use simple 3 port gauge sets and then have
sets with 1mtr hoses, sets with 2mtr hoses and one set with 5
mtr hoses.

As a service engineer I only needed one set at a time but there are
occasions when you just need more than one and over the years I
have just kept my older gauges and replaced the hoses and seals.

I have never bothered with the expensive fancy gauge sets but
I always looked after my tools and I can't remember having any
real problems other than gauges out of callibration and seals.

I also go back to a time when companies supplied tools and replaced
personal equipment if it became damaged on the job.

I now have 3 sets of the Testo digital gauges 550, 556 and a 570 and
I think they are great. I wish I had these gauges 30 years ago

Regards

Rob

I have 3 sets of JB 3 port Manifolds. 2 sets have regular hoses with a quick connect on the High side hose. The other set has regular hoses with the schrader depressors removed for Recovery/Vacuum use.

Usually use which ever set is handiest to get out of the van.
Have 2 sets of yellow jacket digital system analyzers generally used for commissioning and close control stuff
Have 3 sets of ITE 4 port manifolds for various refrigerants some full bore for recovery and charging.
And 1 set of 5 port 3 head ITE for testing on 3 pipe systems.
Have a couple of 100ft gauge lines for those jobs where humping 40ltr nitros up stairs and ladders doesn't appeal.

Cheers
Stu

Those electronic gauges look beautiful, I have never seen electronic types here, not even in the big suppliers.

410a were a gift from Space when they used to like me (a while ago I'll grant you) and my others are just gauges..I got them off Ebay. That's how exciting gauges are to me..
