View Full Version : Wall Mount A/C blowing out a wet mist?

I have 2x Wall Mounts in a warm humid Kitchen that blow cool all working fine but they throw out a wet mist which then condensates on the louvers and drips everywhere? Any one ever had anything like this? I'm assuming because the air passing through the A/C is so humid it is being condensed on the evaporator coil and then blown off in to the room?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Wayne.

Mists come out of the indoor unit.
This happens when the air in the room is cooled into mist by the cold air
flow during cooling operation

easiest option is to remove the louvres- so all you get is the white mist, increase the setpoint as its prob set at 19 will help too

Check your barrel fan is clean of mould or dirt build up. Not enough air flow.

Evap coils probably covered in grease.

1. Make sure everything is clean and operational.
2. Check coil / refrigerant temps and make sure these are normal.
3. Get them to use MAX fanspeed only.
4. Make sure they operate on a reasonable set point, 22-25 C or thereabouts.

Measure the condition these units are operating in and make sure it is within the manufacturer's design envelope.

This happens because the air inside the room is humid. Considering the fact that this is a kitchen, the latent heat is also very high! Try decresing the fan speed, so that the condensate drips to the pan safely.

The same thing can be seen when boarding an air plane in tropical areas. You can see a white mist comming out of the vents...

we have had a few splits in a kitchen for about three or four years .
the customer never realy bothered with a service .
i have never seen such gooked up units the coils and the fan impellors and sticky.
to clean them is time consuming to say the least .
pump down and remove to do a proper job.
another thing i noticed with splits in kitchens is the filters become coated to a point where there is less airflow . the degreaser thats used to clean the cooker hoods , shifts it.
