Can any one verify for me this one. I have been told by a manufacturer that an identical chiller working in a 60Hz enviroment has more refrigerant installed in it than a identical chiller working in a 50 Hz enviroment. Seemingly 60Hz power supplys run a lot faster than 50Hz supplys and therefore require more refrigerant(25% more). Not sure I believe this

UK (Europe) use 50 Hz as you said. US and other places use 60Hz.

If a 60Hz system was used in the UK it run slightly slower than it
was designed and that would effect the capacity.

Putting more refrigerant in???? I'm not sure this would improve it?

If the refrigerant is flowing around the system at a set rate (Mass Flow)
then the system will be designed for this. If the refrigerant flows slower
you will have to run the system loner to do the same amount of work.

The system is sized to the evap and that can only hold a set amount of
refrigerant, if you put more gas into it, it will sit in the liquid reciever and
not in the evap.

So I can't see how adding more refrigerant will help.

Pure fiction, the only difference is the motors speed and amp draw and capacity which is lower at 50Hz by 17%.
