had a strange one today was pressure testing a 5hp machine to locate a leak,attached nitro to 250psi located leak on the return bend on the condensor brazed it tested again another leak on another bend brazed it tested again you guessed it another one now the leaks did not appear to show on original test,this machine is on 404a so it runs in excess of 250 psi guess a new condensor needed?

had this before mate, 7 of the buggers, gave up in the end and lets have a new coil!

The extra leaks will be your own doing...unwittingly...it'll be the heat from the brazing of one leak weakening the copper/welds. Copper can be very thin on the bends of condensers as gets stretched thin when being bent. Always wondered why more care, by manufacturerers, not taken here as this is where we get the highest pressures...

lennox coils were renoun for failing- think they were made out if copper coated foil!-but scrap yards arent fussy
had a daikin coil fail on the middle of the coil-blobbed it all ok

Hello. They should've been there all the way. Just the biggest of them catched your eye first; then after that was brazed, the "next size" came forward most noticably, and so on.

Ok try this, take a 2 foot piece of copper tubing any size you have handy, hold one end with a bare hand and hold the other to just a candle flame (much less btu's than torch). Count how long you can hold. You will then understand the physics of coppers conductivity. Without heatstop compound or at least a wet rag you could well be creating the domino effect you are experiencing.

had this befor if the copper is pitted you end up chasing leaks
