worked on a freezer unit to day the hp switch was conected to the compressor oil pump and the oil switch was conected to the hp conection of the compressor head. i had to look twice never seen pressure switches piped like this befor

swap the cables over-oops jumped in a bit too quick there- degas and swap the capillarys over

the only parts corect was the wires and the lp conection on the oil switch

posted swap the cables then edited it as i thought theyve probably got the pressure switches in the wrong ports-so edited it quick! haha

Was it done by accident?

Or was it done because the oil pressure is so low they
piped the HP to to oil switch to keep it running?

If it is the latter you may find the comp is in need of attention.

its on a rebuild after the first rebuild failed so might just be a mistake or some one not knowing wot thay were doin but not a good mistake to make

I think we've all done similar stuff like this. I know, on the odd occasion, I've wired stuff up and checked it then about to turn it on and do a final check and find I've wired the earth too the live or something stupid like that. Its like you put a tool down, go looking for it and it seems to have disappered then look again and there it is. Sometimes strange how the mind works...or more to the point how it doesn't work sometimes!
