Hi mates , i didn't know where to post such a thread so i decided to post it here .. . . it doesn't contain a poll , but it's about your opinion . . .

I recently met a lady who says she works in a factory here that send refrigerators to the UK .... the trade mark is cravelle i think , and yes sorry i donno what kind of refrigerator it is , i know it's assembled here and shipped to the UK . anyone knows about those fridges assembled here and if anybody knows , how good it is ??

PS : I'm not sure if the TM owner in the UK says to the customers where he manufactures or if she is telling the truth (who knows ) so let us keep the cat in the bag :)

Hi Botrous,

They are made by LEC refrigeration in Bognor Regis.

Not bad fridges, very very good customer service.

Bognor Regis (which is in the UK)

I do know they started having them made outside the UK but I don`t know where. It was only one type of fridge the rest are made here.

Caravelle always struck me as being a Continental European product........

But............these days companies are farming out production to other countries so anything is possible

Lebanon doesnt strike me as a production base as such............I know Turkey is pretty clued up..........

But no disrespect to Lebanon............you may be right......It may just be Caravelle....

At this stage I just cant tell

mmm Abe , hehe I'm surprised to . . . the man hour here is a lot more expensive than the Far east or Turkey , that's what surprises me , as for the quality , there are many refrigeration industrialists here and there products are pretty good so I donno . . .

Now I think it's always like this , they should put on the fridges made by the TM , not made in . . . . because well I went to the Kompass website and found that some TMs in europe manufacture in different varieties of countries like eastern europe , middle east and far east . . . . Noone can trust noone anymore :o

The Quest coolers were also unique in that the casing was made entirely in plastic.

I was cleaning some parts in the workshop a few years ago and spilled petrol all over a quest and after panic and mopping up was over, it cleaned the plastic up like new!!!
I then went round the others and poured petrol over them and they all come up like new.

They were Danish; may still have a Danish connection, though I think that there was a management buy-out a couple of years ago.
