ODS only, I'm afraid, Richard. You can still buy your HFCs in Halfords!

The story behind it is that the UK is facing infraction procedings (prosecution for not implementing EU law) from the EU for not enacting rules on gas handling and competency as laid down in the ODS Regulations, 2037 / 2000. This came out in 2000 as the name implies and replaced an earlier Regulation from 1994 on the same subject.

It simply means that you will need an up to date C&G 2078 or CITB to work on HCFCs . It does not apply to HFCs yet. The draft SI is intended to come into force in June next year.
