Hi everybody;

We have a problem with York chiller Model:LCHHM 230 WL 50 E capacity control:8STEP
For more explanation:
1- I don't know about type of refrigerant.
2- this chiller is in another country and my mission is to find a solution.
When it turns on,This message"Reprogram type of refrigerant to run" is shown .
From your point of you, which of these items is true about this problem?
1- CMOS battery is dead .
2- Type of refrigerant is not defined correctly .
3- EEprom software is expired .
4- One of the hardware parts is out of service
5- Anymore......

Thank you in advance

Most likely the battery has died, a replacement EEPROM should sort it out.

Do not know your machine at all, but if not rebooting then the processor is not supported . The eprom ( etched program read only memory ) is not uploading to processor. Highly unlikely that the eprom is corrupted.
Look at power supplies to processor, difficult if you are not on site, good luck.

How can i reprogram the refrigerant type? Can you tell me step by step? It's looks like that i need a password, how can i find that?

If battery is dead, should i replace RTC Completely?

Thanks

thanks for your support.
i want to go to it's site. how can i recognize that it's battery is dead or not? or there is a need for replacing EEPROM?

If I need a new EEPROM, do you have any information about it's price?
Could you give me your contact information to ask you buy & send it.
Thanks

I want to go to the chiller's site. Could you explain clearly step by step?
Thanks

All friends
Chiller owner has sent this mail:
"Yesterday we cleaned the stone filters (Please note that when they was opened the stone filter there was full of compressor oil round about 5 LTR in that filter), Oil changed and refilled the Gas R-22 after complete Vacuum. When they opened for cleaning and they found that the all electronic valves was not working than they have given direct connection to one main valve. After that the message “Reprogram Type of Refrigerant to Run” was finished from the display and chiller was turned on for 4 hours after that again suddenly chiller was stopped and same message “Reprogram Type of Refrigerant to Run” was showing on the display ."

What's your opinion?
I need immediate help

Time to pay for York Johsons to visit the site.
As you are remote and we are all the same.
Time to call in a York / JCI engineer, or at least with experiance with the old chillers.

I've got to agree with Grizz, time for the pro's to come in, sounds like wiring the valve direct may have damaged the main micro board, you're into checking board voltages now to verify what is working, alternatively pull the york control gear, fit a dixell 6 stage controller and rewire.

Hi pilot 1983 i have had the same problem with regards to refigerant program loss this is not an EPROM issue all u need to do is enter 7396 and this will enable you to select refrigerant

@Steve186 Thank you so much for the password !!

I personnaly got this issue on a YORK machine after a certain cable got loose and fell , maybe created some kind of electric problem that caused the reinitialisation/reset of all the parameters. I know the values to setup but without the code the only modifiable value was the language.
