So........ I currently drive a van and have done for years, but have been offered a car by my employers as we now have refrigerants/nitrogen delivered straight to site..... can't decide what to do........ the car is a decent spec estate model with a/c, cruise control, hands free kit etc......all of which my van does not have........... not sure though:confused:

the tax on a van is now similar to a car- if you have ur own car,go for the van- if you dont then car it is.-go for the car-summer is here-you can always get a roof rack for gas bottles.condensers! haha

I like the idea of a car because of the a/c, hands free etc....... but not sure bout the amount of room for my gear?....I see most industrial/chiller lads have cars.........plus the van I drive only does 30-35 mpg....... the car will do at least 50 mpg.......

Van for all the gear I think.

Cars are nicer but never really cut it as a working vehicle.

I used to have a car but it depends how much gear you need, also there`s always the work "smell" to the interior and the fact you always associate it with your job. Most vans are just as comfortable as cars now with all the extras, gone are the days of the BL Sherpa.

I've had astra, escort, toyota hi-ace, vw transporter and transit vans, also mondeo, focus cars...... but the best service engineers vehicle........... Vauxhall Vivaro, fast, economical, comfortable, loads of room and very reliable
