Hey, I'm new here!

I have a quick question regarding a fast freeze button located under the temperature control knob on my indesit fridge freezer CA 55 UK (i believe but has the same switch for sure).

I am unsure which position the switch has to be in to ensure it is turned off, the switch has a 0(off) and l(on) but does the 0 have to be in or out to be off xD.

The user manual says; To set "Fast Freeze" ON,
press the switch to "I"
This switch activates
intensive cooling to
ensure that required
temperatures are reached
quickly.
So when the fresh food is
frozen return the switch to its OFF position, "0".
Note: for Energy Saving ensure that "Fast Freeze" is
switched off after 24 hours.

Which doesn't state the polarity of the switch.

mormally you get an orange light- fast freeze function only bypasses the thermostat so it cools continuosly

I have no lights on this unit. I don't want to turn it on thinking that its off and its continuously running full whack.

if its not reaching temperature then theres other issues-the fast feeze button is a gimmick- comfirm the door seals are air tight and the freezer isnt froze up, fans start when the door switch is pushed

ok I guess ill have a guess that the 0 should be in for the switch to be off and leave it at that then. Just the manual says do not leave on for over 24 hours as it uses a lot of power.

it only uses more power after running beyond its setpoint- as its only a 350watt compressor the additonal running wont increase your electric bill much

"IN" is on fast freeze, "OUT" is off... Fast freeze, HeHe, as Install says, just a gimmick.

The fast freeze switch only bypasses the thermostat.
When the switch is activated the comp is made to run continuously.
If it is left on too long it will increase the the running costs.

If you have found the position where the comp turns on and off then
you are in normal operation and it should now be ok.

All the best

Fast freeze, doesn't do what it says on the tin!
It should be switched on prior,24 hours, before freezing fresh food so that the cabinet temperature is as low as possible. Therefore when you put the fresh food in it will freeze quicker and be a better finished product.
Putting it on after you put food in is an absolute waste of time as the thermostat will run the compressor anyway until optimum temperature is reached.
If only I had charged customers an extra pound (not euro!)everytime I've trotted that one out!
Time for another pill I can hear the nurses footsteps
